Substantive Consultant Physicians in Acute Medicine

The Royal Devon and Exeter NHS Foundation Trust

We are looking for 2 new colleagues to join our team in Acute Medicine at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital. We are a forward thinking group of doctors in an ambitious and dynamic department and trust, able to effect changes to our service.

To achieve our ambitions we have created two exciting Consultant Physician in Acute Medicine posts. These posts will allow us to expand our already successful Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) area allowing it to extend its hours and deliver high quality and effective care for our patients.

Come and join a young team of enthusiastic doctors, we mostly have young families and promote part time working plus diverse portfolios to make our jobs sustainable. South East Devon is a great place to live and bring up a family. We have outdoor appeal with our beautiful national parks and coastline. Exeter polls highly in the UK’s best places to live and is well connected by road, rail and air.

We run a conventional medium sized AMU (44 beds), medical triage unit (bedded and seated) and our recently developed SDEC unit. Here we offer point of care ultrasound, rapid access to diagnostics and procedures. Symptom based clinics run in parallel led by experienced nurse practitioners and middle grade medics.

We are committed to offering genuinely workable job plans in a challenging specialty and there are many non-clinical opportunities here to make this a reality. Do have a look at the job description and contact us on 01392 402785 to register your interest.
