Due to the expansion of the Urgent Community Response Service, we are looking to recruit Support Workers with the NVQ 3 (or equivalent) qualification to work in Exeter. Urgent Community Response is a joint Health and Social Care Service providing support to people in their own homes in times of crisis, to avoid unnecessary admissions to hospital and facilitate discharges home from hospital.
The service operates over 7 days a week, 365 days a year between the hours of 07:30 and 22:00. The service provides care across Eastern Devon communities and you will be part of the Locality team in Exeter providing a high quality service promoting independence, dignity and support. You will join an innovative, enthusiastic and motivated multi-disciplinary team, working within Urgent Response, and will also have regular contact with Community Nursing and Therapy Teams.
We are able to offer a variety of shift patterns and will consider full/part time applications. We would be particularly interested in hearing from you if you would like to work evenings and weekends. Please contact us to discuss your individual needs.
Previous community experience is desired but not essential as the teams will give you support and guidance you need to excel. As this is a community based position, a driving license and access to your own vehicle is essential. You will also need to be competent with IT as electronic recording is an essential part of the role
You will be provided with a comprehensive induction programme including support to complete the National Care Certificate
Urgent Community Response Support Workers are Lone Workers within the community, although support is always available via Team Managers, the Single Point of Access and the Community Nursing teams.
